Senator McCarthy talked people in to becoming worried and anxious about communism. People began to turn on their friends, thinking that they were communists. People were prosecuted and killed for doing something within the stereotype of a communist. That means that random innocent people were put in jail for no reason.

Joseph McCarthy was a man who became an attorney in 1935, during the Great Depression. He was the youngest circuit judge in Wisconsin’s history. McCarthy joined the marines during WWI and was upgraded to a captain. However, he left because he broke his foot during a hazing ritual. McCarthy ran for the U.S. Senate but although he failed, he became the Wisconsin’s junior senator. In 1950, he at the celebration of Lincoln’s birthday, he waved 205 supposed communists holding State Department jobs. May 2, 1957 he died of of acute hepatitis caused by alcohol abuse at 48 years old.

Joseph R. McCarthy was a senator that didn’t cause elimination of people or killed a soothsayer, but he was able to fix the fit of madness in America during the early 1950s. McCarthy had gotten advantage of the mounting fear of the spread of communism, although it wasn’t actually illegal to overthrow communism. He left school at the age of 14 to attend a farm and about six years later, he returned and finished High School. Still, his speeches about communism was really strong from within his opinions on what was right to him.

Joseph R. McCarthy was a senator that had strong anti-communistic views. But he was ended because of this. He helped expose the hundreds of anti-americans working secretly for the U.S. government. But the Senate beacme tired of McCarthy’s “showmanship” and the liberal media made biased attacks and ridiculed him. After the Senate censured him, he fell into alcoholism from whick he didn’t recover. He died on May 2nd, 1957 at age 49 from hepatitis. He was an American hero whose patriotism was his downfall.
