I think this preview was very inspiring and now I really Know what manifest destiny is. Oh and the picture is lovely John Gast did his thang
This is very inspiring because of the slaves moving westward to freedom and that the angel is leading them so they will be out of their misery. Their facial expressions look curious. I think the are glad to see a change in life so the do not have to be beat and work very hardly.
I like this topic a lot, and it is representing or showing ones apperance.
Do not get the painting
The Manifest Destiny looks like the woman in white is trying to lead the settlers to hope and better land.

The picture of Manifest Destiny is very brilliant. Like for example the mountains look like oceans some of the people look like indians I mean there is just A lot going on in this picture, and that’s cool that’s why I like this picture.
I really do agree with Shaunah A. Because it is very brilliant, even though it has a lot going on in this pic it makes it interesting.
I notice that there is a light above the angel but I do not see any light anywhere else.
In the “Manifest Destiny” painting she is their guiding angel to the west. You can tell because their is a light shining on her and she has a pure white dress on that shows her holiness.
I agree also, when we were doing the preview I mentioned the same thing that she was guiding the people in the people West.
I notice that the herd of buffalo are going westward too,so as the trains.
The people on the ground are travelers from all over the land. I think the woman is an angel sent from god to help the travelers.She wearing white because white is a holy color.And I think she guiding them to new land.Also I think those people seem tired because they have been walking from the over the mountains.Because, Manifest Destiny involves moving to new areas this is a great painting because it has people traveling and the angel leading them.
The painting is that she looks like she is bring light to the dark.
There are Indians moving along with them too and I can tell that they are Indians because of the way they dress and they have feathers on their head.
On MANIFEST DESTINY the angel has a light shining on her and is leading the way for miles

The woman in the air is guiding the travelers westward and helping them, she is going further and further so that is showing expansion which is showing manifest destiny. The woman seems like an angel.
One thing that is kind of weird is that EVERYTHING in the picture is moving west,including the clouds.

Manifest Destiny is a guide to the new territories
is the United States of America. She might be pulling the trains to the west with the wire thats on her. There are families and farmers following her to the west. On the land their is a herd of buffalo going to the west to. I think their is a bible in here hand sense she might be a angle . It is a bridge is the back ground holding the sails of the boats up. The big clouds and the thin clouds are following Manifest Destiny to the west or the new territories.
on the picture i thiinnk that the wores in her hand are leading the way for people that are behind and is trying to catch up to the rest
i think that in the picture that if yo look at the mountains you will see that inn the east the mountains are small or you cant see them and to the west you an see them more

I believe that this picture is confusing the first time you look at it, but when you study it it makes more sense.
Manifest Destiny is a very interesting topic and I enjoy learning about it and every other topic you teach. I really enjoy Social Studies and i feel I learn a lot. But, I can’t wait till I get to 7th grade so i can learn about cooler topics such as The Holocaust and many other topics.

I think they feel this way because moving to the west offered many opportunities and chance for a better life. Out of all of the topics we have learned this year, Manifest Destiny happens to be my favorite.I really like the painting with the angel guiding the pioneers west.

they move west to expand their land, making the u.s. bigger. some western land had better rich farming land.
in manifest destiny the grass is kind of moving forward because in the picture it is showing everything in the picture moving west to new territories trying to find freedom and start a new life to get away from all of the confusion and commotion

I think John Gast did an amazing job on this painting. This is one of my favorite topics that we have learned this year. In my opinion I think that the lady in the painting is leading the people west, also if you notice that everything in the painting is facing west.
I think the woman in the painting shows them the way to the west. She also is guiding them to cheap, fertile land. All the settlers follow because they want an opportunity to claim new land.
I think the people on the ground are rushing to get to the new land. I also think they are anxious. They are also determined. The thought of “Manifest Destiny” is on their mind.
